Leaders Are Fat
When I heard this the first time I was wondering what this means. This was exactly the picture I had of Winston Churchill and other great leaders.
Just recently I called a good friend and leader and he told me that you couldn’t be a leader if you’re fat and smoke. Even if I didn’t agree 100% he still is in the process of stopping to smoke.
I found out later that fat was standing for FAT – faithful, available and teachable.
I was relived, but still, I believe that keeping my body in shape will help me lead at my best.
Leaders are faithful toward their values, faith, and the people they lead. As soon as they loose trust because they break a commitment, people will stop following and then only the power of the position will keep them in leadership for a short period longer.
Question: Is your “yes” a “yes” and your “no” a “no”?
Leaders are always ready to go the extra mile. They are ready to help the people they lead. A manager will give an appointment; a leader will give time right now.
Question: Are you willing to take time with the people you lead?
Leaders are learners. An unstoppable curiosity for new things is giving them an open spirit for change. A hunger for growths will create new opportunities. Only pride will stop their personal development. The attitude of a leader will make or break him.
Question: Are you always open to learn form others?
