Jesus

Blog auf Deutsch

Jesus is an Icon.

Icon is used, particularly in modern culture, in the general sense of symbol — … a person readily recognized as having some well-known significance or embodying certain qualities.

I think Jesus is the most controversial man that ever walked the planet.

People loved him, others wanted to kill him and still others have changed their opinion about him so many times that it is useless to count the swaps.

What is your opinion about Jesus?
Your opinion has more to do with your history than you think!

  • What have you heard about Jesus?
  • What did your parents think of Jesus?
  • What do your friends say about Jesus?

I see Jesus in at least 3 different ways

The Party-Man

Friends.
He traveled with a band of friends and was very seldom alone.

Parties.
He was a guest to many celebration events. At one wedding he was responsible of organizing more wine.

Crowds.
He loved to speak to big gatherings and did not want to send them away to quickly.
At one occasion, he sent his disciples ahead, so he could stay a little longer with the crowed.

The Mercy-Man

Loving.
Jesus told many stories about a lost son, coin or sheep that longs to be found.

Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Matthew 19,14

Sensitive.

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. John 11,33

Compassionate.

He did not judge people, even with evidence of wrongdoing. Jesus stood up for a woman that was sentenced to death. John 8,7

The Action-Man

Provoked.
He was not afraid to confront people in a way that made them react.

When Jesus saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: „You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?“ Matthew 3,7

Tough.

Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. Matthew 8,24

Aggressive.

In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money.  So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. John 2,14-15

Jesus is what I need.

Jesus is my icon because he is what I personally need. He knows me, loves me and want’s the best for me. He sets my life straight and opens a door when I think there is no way out. He is my hope and source of inspiration.

The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. 1. Samuel 16,7

My ICON!

To many times Jesus is misunderstood, misused and dismissed before explored properly. I am not ashamed to be called a follower of Jesus! For me he is hope, love and simple my reality.
