Bob Buford

Blog auf Deutsch

Bob Buford is an inspiration to me. As he turned mid thirty he asked the big question: “what will I do with the rest of my life?”. His answer was: “I want to multiply by 100″. That’s why he started OneHundredX and Leadership Network. Now he wants to provide information that leads to strategic improvement.

For that to happen, leaders need to develop in three areas:

  1. We first must learn to lead ourselves. Many would-be great leaders crash and burn at some point in their careers largely due to their inability to lead themselves. A leader must be disciplined and this requires self-leadership.
  2. We must learn to lead others. Leading others means different things to different people. To some it is interpreted simply as “command and control.” But, in today’s workplace environment, there is a great need for leaders who inspire and coach, who lead by their example, and who dedicate themselves to lifting up others rather than themselves.
  3. We must learn to lead the organization as a system. Leading individuals is not the whole story. Effective leaders must learn to see the big picture, to view the organization as a coherent system. It has to do with viewing the organization as an entity in itself and learning to drive that system rather than having the system drive us.

The greatest leader of all time once said: “The leader must be as one who serves” (Luke 22:26). Above all else, it is our heartfelt desire that this site be a service to men and women who want to improve their leadership capabilities.

We believe that peace, prosperity, and progress in the world depend on great leadership. Bob Buford
